suburban squall

Suburban Squall was an exhibition of 22 works shown at Sabbia Gallery in April 2026. These ceramic sculptures bring together wheel-thrown terracotta forms and bricks collected from a local beach on Dharawal Country, carried to the shoreline by creeks from a long-closed brickworks.

Once part of the expansion of the suburbs, these industrial remnants have been worn smooth by waves and time, their rigid forms softened and reshaped by the ocean.
