It started with an obsession with clay.

Originally trained at Sydney College of the Arts as a printmaker, I have been somewhat obsessed with clay for the last 18 years, revelling in the medium and its endless possibilities.

Not interested in competing with the “perfection” of machine made items I am more interested in the little details that make a work truly sing.

Between 2023 and 2024 I undertook a Master of Fine Arts degree at the National Art School in Sydney and am now keen to continue making sculptural work in my home studio.

All works are made on Dharawal Country in a studio between high cliffs and the sea where verdant flora and fauna are a daily inspiration and functional and decorative ceramic pieces fit seamlessly into a slower, more considered pace of life.

I can be found under two different labels. The first, Cobalt & Kin, is for more functional work and includes cups, platters, jewellery and vases. I use this label for online sales, pop-ups, artisan markets, studio visits and specialty design stores. Visit my design stores page or Cobalt & Kin instagram for more.

I use my name for commercial galleries and competitions and this work is usually more conceptual. You can see examples on my galleries page. After completing a MFA in Ceramics I aim to spend increasing amounts of time on sculptural work which I will show primarily on my Chrystie Longworth instagram account.

You can read a bit more about my creative history in my journal.
