Finalist in the Northern Beaches Environmental Art & Design Prize

I’m excited to have a work from my recent exhibition, Suburban Squall, accepted into the 2026 Northern Beaches Environmental Art & Design Prize.

Stormfront Sentinel comprises a handmade terracotta structure alongside a concrete and brick fragment collected from the shoreline. The found object, weathered by tide and time, suggests the remnants of a seawall or coastal defence, an uncertain relic of attempts to hold back an encroaching landscape.

Through the juxtaposition of fired clay and salvaged material, the work reflects on fragility, endurance, and the instability of the built environment within a changing climate. Positioned as both monument and warning, Stormfront Sentinel considers humanity’s precarious relationship to the coast and the inevitability of environmental transformation.

I look forward to seeing the work in the exhibition along with some other fantastic finalists.
